Driver Assessment and Training
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 requires employers to manage Health and Safety effectively. Part of this includes the requirement to carry out an assessment of risk to the health and safety of employees and those who may be affected by their actions. New guidance from HSE has emphasised the need for employers to conduct assessments of drivers employed by them (whether or not they use vehicles beong to the company) To comply with this guidance drivers need training in:
- Safe practice
- Basic safety checks for vehicles
- Safe load distribution
- Breakdown procedures
- Dangers of fatigue
- The importance of eyesight checks
- Good driving posture and seat adjustment
- Route planning and scheduling
- Safe driving techniques
- Specific training for minibuses, small goods vehicles etc
We are now able to provide specific training and support to meet these needs. Our experienced instructors are able to provide written assessments of driver's skills and training to meet identified needs.
