CABLE LOCATING

Duration: Minimum 4 hours

For: Employees on construction sites etc who need to avoid dangers from underground services.

Objectives: To establish a standard, which will help employees to have a better understanding of the employer/employee responsibilities in the work place with particular reference to Health and Safety in construction HSE 2000, electrical safety on construction sites HSE 1995, avoiding dangers form underground services HSG 47 including the correct selection and use of equipment.

Course content:
1. Understanding the legal duties placed upon the
employees and employer.
2. The correct selection of equipment.
3. Basic electromagnetic theory.
4. Detection and location of signal sources.
5. The tracing of non-metallic pipes.
6. Use of cable locators, signal generators and ancillary
equipment.


Venue: Customer’s premises
